Summer Solstice Ritual
Seasonal Supplies
- Apples, Peaches and Cherries
- Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, and Lavender (dried for the spell and fresh for your dish)
- A colorful variety of Wax Begonias, Periwinkles, Passionflower, Marigolds and Sunflowers
- Yellow or Gold Candle
- Gold or Yellow Robe, Shirt or Dress
- Piece of White Cloth or Cloth Pouch
- Piece of Red String or Yarn
Instructions
1 Prepare for the Summer Solstice ritual by gathering your cloth or cloth pouch and herbs. Meditate on your pain, trouble, sorrow and/or illness. Tie the cloth or pouch with a red string or piece yarn and keep it for the ritual.
2 Think about the qualities of fire and contemplate what you need protection from. Write down the areas of your life that need strengthening. The Summer Solstice ritual is a time to amass courage.
3 Collect the flowers for your Summer Solstice. Cleanse yourself and dress for the ritual. Find a gold or yellow candle for your altar to represent the god in ritual.
4 Make dishes with fresh herbs. Tomato soup/sauce, with its red color, is suitable for the season. Eat fresh local fruit/fruit salad at the close of the ritual for a sweet end to summer.
5 Set up your altar with the flowers, candles, pouch of herbs and any other tools you wish to use and cast your circle. At the moment most suitable to you during your ritual, hold the pouch of herbs in both hands. Pour all your troubles, sorrows and pain into the pouch mentally. When you've finished the ritual, bury the pouch as deep in the ground as possible for you.
Tips & Warnings
- Buy flowers from your local nursery or pick them from your own garden to make a wreath to wear during the Summer Solstice ritual.
- Educate yourself about fire safety if you're performing the ritual outdoors and have a bonfire. This time of year is notorious for uncontrollable wildfires.
This is another spell I found and tweaked for use in Florida. Good luck!!!!
Love,
Stevie
